About

The Bluebonnet is a biennial wildflower that takes two years to complete its lifecycle. Each plant begins development from seed that germinates in the fall. The plants grow slowly and become dormant during the winter blooming in the spring.

 

There a several species of Bluebonnets with variations in color. Most bluebonnets that grow wild in Texas are a bright blue as the name suggests.
